Man Hair Transplant Is Permanent
As many people examine the techniques involved in hair transplant procedures, they feel more confident that the procedure has proceeded to a point where they can feel comfortable with having one. Many times in the past when someone had experienced a bad procedure, it was obvious by their hair plugs, but today this is not always the case. There are still a variety of facts that are not understood about this process even today.
A large percentage of men have balding issues: In fact, 50 percent of American men that are 50 years old or over are dealing with some amount of hair loss. Some men shave their heads completely, as they feel this is the best way society gives them to deal with their hair loss. Others take the exact opposite route and have hair transplant surgery. A third option is to acknowledge the hair loss and do nothing about it, however, the people who do this are not keeping up with the rest of the world in this regard.
The procedure is permanent: If you decide you do not like the results, it is not as simple as taking off a wig to change your hair. There are many surgical procedures that are required, and after you are done, your head will not look the same as it did before. The hair transplant surgery is not a procedure you can try out on a “see if you like it basis,” and you should be wary of any doctor that promises a trial basis.
Despite it being a major procedure, many people think that after hair transplant surgery, they can just jump back into their old routine but this is not true, regardless of the simplicity of the procedure. A person might shrug off the need to rest because it is “just their scalp,” and not muscle and bone. What you must realize is that the protection factor following such a surgery - that causes a large number of tiny wounds - is immense.
What you must also realize is that many hair transplant surgeries can take up to a year or two to complete. There are mega-sessions where thousands of grafts are done in one sitting to help reduce that amount of overall time. However, the length of these sessions is often grueling and requires commitment.
Along with hair transplant surgery, you may have to have other treatments so if you do not have enough hair, you cannot undergo the normal treatment. There are other surgeries that can be done at the same time to achieve similar results. Of course, these procedures are usually far more painful.
All the grafts may not survive following hair transplant surgery. The hope is that only a few will be lost and the overall result will not suffer. Still, many grafts will not be viable no matter how much effort is put into the procedure.
Hair transplant treatments do not cost as much as you think: For example, you might reasonably spend 12,000 dollars on the treatment. If you got it done at age 30 and died at age 70, you would have the transplant 40 years, which averages out at 300 dollars per year, or 25 dollars per month. Many people choose treatments which are designed to be “low cost,” and while you may save money in the short term, in the long term you will end up paying more than 25 dollars per month. The surgery would be the cheaper route in the long run.
