Modern Exercise

If you are nearsighted and approaching your mid thirties and considering Lasik, please read this. I did not listen to the warnings and now I am forever attached to my reading glasses. and at the same time reduce my near vision. I was a couple years away from presbyopia and mildly nearsighted, Lasik surgery gave me about 3 years of corrected vision and now I am mildly farsighted and have to wear reading glasses.

Apparently if I never had Lasik this would not be the case. As a previous contact lens wearer, it would have been very easy for me to upgrade from single vision lenses to multivision contact lenses. However, since I have altered corneas soft contact lenses do not correct my vision as well.

The saving grace is that I have located some gorgeous reading glasses that help me see and look good. The only thought that runs through my head is, if I did not have Lasik surgery, then I would still wear contact lenses but would not be so reliant on my eye-wear.

And when I was nearsighted, I could always read comfortably and clearly with no contact lenses. So reading a book or magazine in bed was always clear. Now I need my glasses to put on makeup!

Overall I think Lasik is a wonderful procedure for those who understand what it does. I would absolutely love it if I had it done when I was twenty-two, all I am saying is that waiting until you are in your late thirties and mildly nearsighted is a mistake.
