Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

January 29, 2008 By: blogger Category: Skin Care 2 Comments →

Stretch Marks
Most of us look forward to warm summer days, water skiing at the lake or river rafting. Some of us prefer cold weather for it’s winter sports, like skiing and snowboarding. And some of us are glad for the colder weather in order to avoid being seen in shorts, sleeveless shirts or even worse, a bathing suit! All this in an effort to keep stretch marks well hidden.

Stretch marks are a form of scarring just under the outer layer of skin. This supportive, elastic layer allows the skin flexibility, enabling the skin to stretch. When the skin is stretched too quickly this layer can be pulled and torn. Pregnancy, rapid growth at puberty, or rapid muscle growth from body building are the most common cause of stretch marks. These form most often along the lower back, hips, abdomen, thighs and breasts. When they first appear, they look like red or purple streaks. Later they begin to look like what they are, overstretched, thin skin in the form of silvery transparent-like scars.

What can you do about stretch marks? Your doctor or pharmacist can recommend and explain the benefits of a number of over the counter treatments. Many of these products contain collagen. Collagen is the substance found naturally in your skin which provides elasticity. When applied to the skin, creams with collagen are absorbed and may help to tighten the skin.

For some, laser treatments are an option. Laser treatments are most effective when when they are preformed at the point where stretch marks are still new and dark in color. Usually a series of treatments are necessary to be effective.

As with many things in life, it is best when you can focus your efforts on prevention. The most effective way to prevent stretch marks, is over all care for your skin. Well hydrated skin is more elastic skin. Drink plenty of water. Try to avoid coffee or other drinks with caffeine such as tea and certain soft drinks. Caffeine is a diuretic. If you plan to continue consuming caffeine, drink the same amount of water as you do caffeinated drinks. Think of drinking caffeinated drinks as “un-drinking”.

How to Remove Stretch Marks & Stretch Mark Cream

Whether you enjoy spending time in the sun participating in summer activities, or hitting the slope during the winter, protect your skin from the elements. We are all becoming aware of the damage that the sun can do to our skin. But sun, along with the wind, can also cause dehydration. Be sure to drink extra water whenever you are exposed to these elements. Use additional moisturizers, before and after spending time outside.

Eating a well balance diet is important for over all heath. Foods that help specifically with skin health are nuts and fish which are high in zinc. Zinc aids in healing. Consuming a sufficient amount of foods with Vitamins A and C, such as carrots, citrus fruits, and milk helps maintain elasticity. Protein rich foods are important to the process of skin renewal.

Whatever your approach to dealing with stretch marks, don’t let them hold you back from enjoying life. Get out there and swim in your bikini or ski in your full winter attire. Just don’t forget the sunscreen!

Lasik Eye Surgery Risk - What You Need To Know About Lasik Eye Surgery

January 29, 2008 By: blogger Category: Eyes Vision No Comments →

Understanding Lasik eye surgery risk is vital if you’re intending on having eye surgery procedure.

There is a lot of information available on the benefits of Lasik yet it’s important to go in with “eyes wide open.” In other words, while it’s a very safe procedure this doesn’t mean there is no risk factor. The truth is, there is.

In this article, we’ll look at some of the complications which can occur during Lasik. Understand, some of these are minor and can easily be rectified while others are more serious.

Lasik Eye Surgery Risks

- Losing vision is obviously the biggest fear most people undergoing eye surgery have. Can it occur? Well, it’s a risk but if you have gone through the proper screening methods and qualify for the surgery then the risk is minimal. But it’s still a risk. Loss of vision could be anything from minor to major loss.

- There is a risk of developing visual symptoms. Halos, double vision and vision glare which can affect night time vision are some of the visual symptoms which you are at risk of. After the treatment even if you had a good vision on the vision chart it is possible, in situation of low contrast, not to see as well as before the treatment.

- Additional treatment could be required following surgery. Aids such as contact lenses and glasses could still be needed. This is an area you need to understand. Thinking you’ll automatically get back 20/20 vision is optimistic and is something you should discuss with your doctor.

- Dry Eye… After the surgery your eye may not produce enough tears to moisture itself and besides discomfort it can reduce the visual quality because of intermittent blurring and other symptoms. This condition may not be permanent and you may be required to use procedures such as use of plugs and intensive drop therapy.

These are just a few of the Lasik eye surgery risk that exist. It’s important to discuss risk with your doctor. The bottom line is, Lasik is relatively safe with minimal risk. Pre-screening methods are and should be thorough because the truth is, you really need to be suitable for this procedure before going under the laser.

Effective Tips For Weight Loss

January 29, 2008 By: blogger Category: Modern Fitness General No Comments →

I had been surfing a lot of internet lately and found three tips for muscle building that I really liked.. Your goal might be fitness or weight loss. These tips work for one and for all. These tips have been echoed through the internet and blogs a large number of time and a lot of people have just turned and rewrote them again. I personally recommend that you follow a good muscle building program by someone like Sean Nalewanyj (More information: Sean Nalewanyj Scam?). His program muscle gain truth is perhaps one of the best one, no matter what your goals are. More information about this program is available here - Review Truth About Building Muscle. The given link has all articles from him and his profile. You can read about it there. Right now here are three tips that I am sure you will find really useful.

1. Supplements are important in building muscle mass. The problem is that some bodybuilders want to cheat nature and use a lot of chemical supplements. You do not need to do this. The best nutrient you can put into your body to help grow muscle mass is protein - not something from a drug lab. So look to protein supplements. They will not only help pack on muscles but they bring up your energy level so you will be able to do your routines with more ease and feel a better sense of well being during your rest periods.

2. Exercise- You can’t lose weight or build muscle without exercising, no matter what you do.

Exercise isn’t just for those under 23. The most efficient way to train is performing full body workouts using muti- joint movements. This will ensure you are burning maximum amounts of calories as opposed to Bodybuilding workouts where muscles are isolated and calorie expenditure is minimal. Use Multi - joint movements and full body workouts and you can’t go wrong.

3. When you working the deltoids, don’t lean backwords. The deltoids get a lot of work by most bodybuilders because they are one of the most prominent muscle groups in the body and respond very well to workouts. Good delts make you look proportionally fit and trim. Lateral raises can pump up your delts to new heights, but do these raises leaning slightly forward. Many people builders have a tendency to lean slightly backwards when doing lateral raises but the delts will not be getting a full workout if you do this.

These three tips can help you take your fitness to next level.

Stay Away From Muscle Building Myths

January 29, 2008 By: blogger Category: Modern Fitness General No Comments →

Weight loss and Muscle building are areas filled with a lot of speculation and myths. I recommend Muscle Gain Truth (Muscle Gain Truth Scam?). If you are beginner to muscle building and want to know what to do and how to do then this is the program that you should opt for. It provides all the right information in a perfect manner. Muscle gain truth will teach you exactly what muscle building is and how to go about it. There is a large number of users who have tried this program and have found it immensely beneficial. Another program that I know how highly recommend is No Nonsense Muscle Building By Vince Delmonte. It is the perfect program for fat free weight gain. You can read more about this using this link - Vince Del monte Review. Remember there are a lot of muscle building programs out there. However most of the program that I have gone through bring you no benefit. Most of the myths around bodybuilding have originated from crappy programs and one should take care and avoid such programs. One of the most popular myth is that if you’ve never used steroids before and are thinking of starting, you should take advantage of your virgin receptors and use a high dose for the most gains. This one sounds almost too stupid to be believed but this philosophy has gained considerable credence through the ramblings of several self- professed drug gurus, many of whom permeate the Internet. Following this mentality, why not recommend that since gains from weight training are quickest when beginning a program, beginners should train everyday for 4 hours a day! The exact opposite is true. In the case of steroids, because the body is so receptive to a new stimulus, very small doses will usually bring outstanding results. Bombarding the body with excessive dosages will only result in a greater tolerance, which will subsequently require higher and higher dosages in order to obtain results in the future. Anyone who encourages excessive use or superphysiological dosages is irresponsible and untrustworthy and should be ignored, regardless of how knowledgeable they may be in the chemistry of anabolics. One should take care that they don’t fall for such programs and follow only the best advice like that from Sean Nalewanyj or Vince Delmonte.

Weight Loss Programs; Find Out How To Lose 20 Pounds In a Couple of Weeks

January 27, 2008 By: blogger Category: Popular Diets No Comments →

Sometimes we need to lose weight, and sometimes we need to lose weight REALLY FAST. Often it is an old friends wedding or a class reunion which prompts you to look in the mirror and realize just how much extra weight you have been carrying around since you last ran into your old friends. It’s surprising how easily we allow ourselves to slip into a comfort zone because the people around us have always known us at a certain weight, and it usually takes the prospect of running into people who knew us at a much lighter weight to make us realize how much we have let our appearance slide. This article discusses how to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks without dwelling overly much on our motivations. When you want to know how to lose 20 pounds in two weeks you don’t have time to analyze why you have let yourself put on weight, you need to get on and take action.

There are essentially two types of weight loss programs for losing 20 lbs in 2 weeks. You can lose it through a high intensity exercise regime, or you can go on a crash diet. Whichever path you choose it’s important to truly believe that you will lose the full 20 pounds inside of two weeks.

Option One - How to lose 20 pounds in two weeks through crash dieting. There is something called a juice based detox diet that you should consider. The diet continues to supply your body with the carbohydrates and sugars that you need, but it acts to cleanse your body of toxins and undigested food. This is not a long term diet, because your body does need solid food to operate most efficiently, but when used as a crash diet to lose a large amount of weight in a very short time this diet is very effective. You can learn more about this diet by talking to a dietician or reading online about it.

Option Two - how to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks through intense exercise. Exercise is a tough way of losing weight, but ultimately is a good healthy long term solution. However, if you want to know how to lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks through exercise you are in for some hard work. 20 pounds is a lot to drop and exercise is a time consuming way of doing it. It’s a good idea to have an exercise partner who is ideally just a little above you in terms of fitness and condition. If you exercise alone it is easy to slack off or even stop, but if you exercise along with someone else you can feed off each other in terms of intensity and motivation. You can push yourself to match your training partners efforts, while they will be doing their best not to be shown up by you. If you ask a gym instructor how to lose 20 pounds in two weeks they are going to tell you that you will need to work your cardiovascular exercises. We are talking a serious 1 hour workout running, cycling, swimming or doing any exercise that keeps you moving. It is easier to choose something you enjoy as this is more likely to keep you motivated to continue.

These are the two ways or weight loss programs you can use to lose 20 pounds or more in 2 weeks. It’s important that you do not do both at once, but realize that diet effects your ability to exercise, and exercise effects the speed you can burn food. When you diet you are telling your body to burn fat reserves rather than get it’s energy from food. The body can do this for a limited time, but if you put extra physical demands on it, such as an intensive workout program, it is likely to go into shock. Likewise, you need a reasonable intake of food to be able to exercise, so if you are dramatically increasing your workout level, you cannot afford to also drop the foods you are putting into your system or you will burn out. When you are thinking about how to lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks you should not consider both crash dieting AND a major workout. You may well end up looking thin when you meet up with those old friends, but you will also look miserable and haggard. Approach the problem of how to lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks safely and you will be on the road to a better you in no time.

Secrets To Reducing Body Fat

January 27, 2008 By: blogger Category: Popular Diets 1 Comment →

Body fat is an important issue of your overall health. Reducing your body fat is important, because too much body fat can make you more prone to serious health difficulties, such as a heart attack or a stroke.

It can also drain your energy and create problems with your movement. There are ways to reduce your body fat percentage that don’t require a serious diet or a lucrative program that costs thousands of dollars. All it takes is a little bit of creativity and some willpower.

One of the first things you should do is to figure out your body fat percentage. You can find this out through a number of methods, but an exact number representing your body fat percentage is usually quite hard to discern, and your doctor can provide numbers that are more accurate in a few minutes. It involves an equation and finding out your average density.

If an individual is serious about reducing body fat and weightloss, the first place to start is body fat measurement. This evaluation may not be a great ego booster, but it is a good motivator. If an individual has dangerously high body fat, a drastic change in lifestyle might be necessary, and this may be the push he or she needs to make a change and get healthy. The body fat measurement can be used as a guide to put one on the right path to better health.

Replace Food with Better Food

One of the first things you should do is to replace rice, pasta and breads with vegetables. This isn’t like the Atkins diet, in which you drop the carbohydrates in your diet. This technique replaces a type of carbohydrate with another type of carbohydrate, providing your diet with a better way to burn them altogether. Fruits and veggies are better fat burners than rice, pasta and breads, so they will help you reduce your body fat.

Drink Water

Next, drink plenty of water each day. Consuming a lot of water actually makes it harder for the fat to stick to your body, allowing you to lose body fat and keep it off. Water also flushes your body out and removes harmful toxins, creating a better body system with which to fight off body fat. Water also raises your energy level, if you drink enough of it, and can improve your concentration.

Resistance Training

If you add some light resistance training to your workout and you do it before you do any cardio, you’ll find that you will have an easier time with your goal to lose body fat. This occurs because your body does not actually burn fat for the first portion of your exercise, so it is better to allow your body to warm up to lose body fat. Elevate your heart rate by doing some light training, then go forward with the whole routine.

A proper diet, keeping well hydrated and regular exercise are excellent and cost-efficient ways to improve health without spending large amounts of money. Expensive diets and special programs to reduce body fat percentage are not required to lose weight, but creativity and a genuine commitment are.

If an individual is serious about losing body fat and is willing to put in the time and energy toward doing so, then that’s already one foot on the road to better health.

HGH Treatment

January 26, 2008 By: blogger Category: Popular Diets 1 Comment →

HGH therapy is an FDA approved effective treatment for HGH deficiency related abnormalities. The remedy for this deficiency is replacement with biosynthetic HGH, which came into practice from 1985. HGH therapy has gained momentum with the studies of Dr. Rudman in 1990. Now, HGH therapy is popular as an anti ageing treatment.

HGH Therapy is provided to children and adults with impaired pituitary functions. The deficiency is signified by short stature and other symptoms such as poor sleep, fatigue, increased visceral fat and lipids, decreased bone and muscle strength, associated psychological problems etc. This therapy is also recommended for HGH deficiency of children that is associated with chronic renal insufficiency and Turner syndrome. Adult HGH deficiency cases such as rare pituitary tumors and muscle-wasting disease associated with HIV/AIDS also require HGH administration. Statistics show that about 75,000 out of 265 million Americans have true need for HGH.

HGH therapy is carried out by professional endocrinologists, after a thorough evaluation of the condition. They decide the dosage of artificial HGH injections, either muscular or subcutaneous. The clinically approved form of HGH is injections, which can be purchased only with prescriptions. The prescribed HGH is usually very expensive, which costs around $1000 per month.

HGH therapy is used to assist in the anti ageing treatments and rejuvenating therapies. HGH is believed to reverse somatopause and enhance the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fat. It provides refreshing attributes such as a trim body, higher energy levels, a superior immune system, sharpened vision and hearing, firm skin and hair, low cholesterol and blood pressure, reduced cardiac risk, enhanced sexual performance etc., to overcome the chronological age.

HGH Therapy is usually devoid of side effects. However, some experience difficulties such as joint pain, headaches, fluid retention, and carpal tunnel syndrome at the onset of the treatment. The treatment schedule must be followed strictly.

Mythical Acne Blemish Cure-All

January 26, 2008 By: blogger Category: Skin Care, Acne 2 Comments →

No one is immune to the occasional acne blemish. Acne is an unpleasant fact, but the way you treat the blemish when it occurs will make a big difference in how long the blemish is apparent. You may not be able to prevent acne blemish issues completely, but you can take some steps to hurry the blemish on its way into clear skin.

Skin Care

If you develop an acne blemish or have a breakout, you should continue to practice good skin care habits. If you are not sure what constitutes good skin care habits, there are numerous articles on the subject, but the main idea is to keep your skin clean without irritating it. Proper skin care can help prevent acne breakouts, but the occasional pimple is unavoidable.

When you spot an acne blemish, popping it should not be your first option. Popping a pimple at first sight, hopeful for eradicating it before anyone else can see it, usually makes the situation worse. If a pimple has formed a head, though, then it should be popped so that it can heal.

However, squeezing Acne before it is ready is bad for your skin and is a poor way to treat acne. When it will not pop, most people continue picking and pinching, which bursts the capillaries (tiny blood vessels) right beneath the skin’s surface.

This essentially forms a little bruise on your face that is likely to be very visible even after the pimple itself has healed.

Dealing with a Pimple

Once you get an acne blemish, you do still have a few ways to treat acne, but some of them are costly. One new product, called the Zeno acne-clearing device, claims it can eradicate most pimples within twenty four hours. It works by focusing a specific amount of heat on the pimple, which destroys the bacteria causing the blemish.

Some people claim that it works perfectly for them, while others say it has virtually no effect on their acne. Luckily, the company offers a money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied. The only drawback for people who find Zeno effective is that it requires disposable tips to work, which some people claim are somewhat pricey depending on how many pimples there are to treat.

Another product used to treat existing pimples is a pen that uses various frequencies of concentrated light. It has been known for a long time that exposure to sunlight helps your skin fight acne, but scientists have determined that the two specific frequency ranges that are most effective appear to us in the form of blue and red light.

The blue light works to kill the bacterium that causes acne, while the red light stimulates the healing action of your skin.

Dermatologists have used red and blue light treatment for quite sometime, but the light pens that are currently available are completely portable and do not require any replacement tips. However, like Zeno, some people report amazing results from using a light pen while others see absolutely no results at all.

The worst thing you can do when you develop an acne blemish is to try popping it prematurely or washing vigorously to attempt to make it disappear. Zeno and light pens may work for you, but there are no guarantees. These treatment methods do not prevent acne breakouts, and considering the $150 price tag attached to each of these devices, many people are content to simply let the occasional pimple run its course.

Breast Enhancement Supplements - The alternative to expensive and painful surgery

January 24, 2008 By: blogger Category: Beauty No Comments →

Recently, breast enhancement supplements have been in demand, and this may be because they are relatively safer and less expensive than surgical ways of breast enhancement. However, most breast enhancement supplements currently in the market are sold as herbal supplements, which means they have not been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

While there are a number of manufacturers of breast enhancement supplements claiming that their products do work and are backed up by studies, a lot of their “proof” come from either limited research or simply hearsay. Breast enhancement supplements are second only to breast surgery in terms of popularity.

The common ingredients used in breast enhancement pills are mostly herbal: black cohosh, burdock root, fenugreek, kelp and wild yam. These pills tend to have a small quantity of the active ingredient so they are not really that effective. In addition, more analysis must be done on the various active ingredients used in enhancement pills to ensure their effectiveness, even when they are used in larger amounts.

Many supplements for natural breast enhancement contain an ingredient to naturally increase breast size. This substance is known as phytoestrogen. Phytoestrogen is not a hormone but it is similar to natural estrogen in terms of the benefits that can be derived from it. Breast enhancement products come in the form of pills, pumps and other supplements, although enhancement supplements in pill, tablet or capsule form appear to be more effective than breast enhancement creams.

Some women who have tried using enhancement creams and supplements at the same time report that the supplements worked better than the enhancement creams. In spite of these reports, more research is needed to verify the efficacy of supplements.

If studies are done showing the efficacy of enhancement supplements, those seeking enhancement will flock to these supplements en masse. As previously mentioned, most of the
breast enhancement supplements today have phytoestrogen, which is a plant compound found to stimulate growth of new breast tissue. Some companies claim that their enhancement supplements are effective and work fast, going so far as to claim to significantly increase bust sizes in as little as two months.

While non-surgical methods like enhancement supplements will not really bring about significant breast size increase in a very short span of time, they are regarded a much cheaper and certainly much safer option as compared to surgical methods.
Many people up their dosages if they don’t see improvements quickly. Many serious health complications can be avoided by women consulting with their physicians or simply sticking to dosage guidelines.
